How to share your localhost url using Ngrok

We usually have a hard time trying out new things, and this time I decided to take us on a first timer’s journey trying out a technology that helps us create access to our localhost. Ngrok helps us create secure tunnels to localhost and allows us the ability to share the link to anyone, anywhere 🙂

Getting Started with Ngrok

In this video, I am checking out ngrok for the first time and plan to use it to share access to my newly rebranded website at acekyd.com. As a first timer, I followed the entire process of downloading, executing and accessing the url from my mobile device. Ran into a small problem on the way but all was fixed. Do check out the video now.

What is Ngrok?

Ngrok is a multiplatform tunnelling, reverse proxy software that establishes secure tunnels from a public endpoint such as internet to a locally running network service while capturing all traffic for detailed inspection and replay.

In simpler English, its a software that allows you access over the internet to a locally running service. And giving you the opportunity to monitor and track all requests and traffic. It’s straightforward to download from their website.
